AN EXTREMELY SAD NOTE.....

Sadly, little vulnerable Sugarplum died as a result of willful poisoning - we were too late to save this little girl. Poisoning is a constant and ongoing concern of
all of us here. Not even shelter protection is safe from those who throw over poisoned food or administer it through drinking bowls. The cowards who do this creep about under cover of darkness and are almost never caught or reported. RIP little one you didn't deserve such brutality and pain.

Pixie is back in the shelter and up for adoption again !!!
Pixie is a small 3 month old puppy who was adopted by a Greek woman - we were all delighted......but.....because of entrenched misinformation Pixie is back in the shelter because her new owner has discovered that she is pregnant (not Pixie)
Sadly this attitude means that both cats and dogs,  formerly owned are promptly removed......another Greek myth to try and overcome. Meantime Pixie is confused and this radical change is so unfair to her - we are desperate to find her a new home quickly - can you help her ?

PUPPY THROWN OVER THE SHELTER FENCE 

Little Tina was thrown over the fence last night 23rd March into the shelter, she is only young dog around 5-6 months old. She is a very sweet and friendly young lady and now needs a loving home .Please consider helping her,contact me for more details ·

IT'S CAT APPEAL TIME


All of  these cats need loving homes. They are all in perfect health and are all used to living with other cats and dogs. I have removed them out of the shelter where life for cats is too restricted and is really not suitable. Each and everyone of them has now fully adjusted and they are all very social and friendly. Cretan stray cats are truly beautiful but suffer a great deal of abuse on the streets and are always prey to mass poisonings. Their life span on average is a few short years and even that depends on their ability to get through numerous untreated flu like infections which spread and kill so many untreated and uncared for cats. They deserve the chance of a loving home with the opportunity to experience life to the full. All of them wait for this chance - a basket in the home of a cat lover. If you can consider adoption

Whilst we have been successful in finding adoptions for some of the dogs and pups in the Gouves shelter we are still receiving a huge influx of very young puppies who have been found simply dumped and abandoned these pitiful bundles are way too young to cope without help - please tale a look at out gallery - they are all gorgeous and all need loving homes. This is Jamie above a beautiful little man who one of the many we have ready for adoption. We have in care 43 puppies desperate for adoption and over 100 adult dogs - they come in all shapes and sizes but without exception every single one is adorable,  friendly and SO deserves a forever home.

Once again we are appealing for flight escorts to help our dogs get to their new homes in Holland, Dusseldorf, Koln and ​ Belgium.....please contact us if you or friends are willing to help. There are no costs to the escort and all paperwork is prepared,you will be met by us at check in where we assist you and take the dog to the cargo dept.then you simply safely deliver the dog to the person waiting on arrival after collecting them on a trolley with your luggage.contact numbers and full information is given,you are never left to do anything on your own. FLIGHT ESCORTS ARE VITAL they are the only people who can get our rescued animals to their forever homes  PLEASE contact us if you can help with this.

We are always looking at ways to raise funds to help with the costs towards re homing and caring for the strays and abandoned animals. If you have any unwanted or broken mobile phones we can make use of them also any broken, unwanted gold jewellery, ie single earrings, broken bracelets,or necklaces. They are all items we can raise funds from. Can you post or send with a visiting friend - Please contact us if you need our address or is there anyone out there who could be our collection agent in the UK ???
Honey is a 4 month old Husky Mix pup,she is vaccinated, very sweet and playful but needs a home of her own.

Still needing a flight to Stuttgart or Dusseldorf for a puppy in the cabin please,if anyone has friends or family visiting or going home for holidays please ask if they can help get him travel to his new home, his new owners are waiting for him.

We are still looking for a flight escort to Belgium after the 16th December for little Coco who is going to her new home in the UK.  Please help us get her home for Xmas!!!  She will be collected by her new owners in Belgium when she arrives and they have waited many months already

By sheer good fortune and being in the right place at the right time today our little man Blackie today found his forever home,he will stay on Crete with a lovely expat Val,he will go early next month to his new forever home and we are so pleased for him.
